On September 13, led by Prof Holly Wang, the Confucius Institute Performing Art Troupe (CIPAT) performed at Westminster, a local nursing home, to celebrate the National Assisted Living Week. In order to provide local seniors a taste of Chinese culture, CIPAT brought Chinese folk dances to the seniors. The show includes four group dances, three minority solos, and one Gu Zheng music piece. Senior audiences enjoyed the beautiful Chinese dances and had a chance to chat with the dancers after the show. According to Dr. Wei Hong, although Confucius Institute has been to Westminster Village twice (The first time was teaching Chinese calligraphy, and the second time is a talk on Chinese senior life), this is the first time that the dance troupe performed. CIP continues to serve the diversified and all levels of community citizens with the splendid Chinese cultures.
