CIs at Valparaiso University and Purdue University co-organized the textbook training with an attendance of 30 plus from both schools.  While the Purdue group presented the teaching materials of [New Practical Chinese Reader] Books 1 to 4, the Valparaiso group introduced the textbooks at K-12 levels, [Happy Chinese], [Great Wall Chinese].  The most productive and impressive part at the training was the interaction between the participants who shared their teaching experiences at college and K-12 levels, and their classroom strategies.  CIP and CIVU plan on holding the training regularly.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Oct. 24, 2012 – Purdue University Confucius Institute holds a celebration dinner for the “Working Chinese Conversation II” class. After the dinner, students and their Chinese teachers acted out the Chinese business conversations, language expressions they learned from this six-week class.

According to Dr. Wei Hong, the director of Purdue University Confucius Institute, “‘Working Chinese Conversation II’ class is one of the most important language programs at Confucius Institute. Participants are from different backgrounds including professors, academic advisors, MBA students, business executives and high school student. This class focuses on practical business Chinese conversation in workplaces and university campus.”
