On-site tour (現地ツアー型)

Tours in ARIS generally refer to a type of activity that a game player is instructed to visit different locations in a predetermined order. Examples of a tour include a tour of famous spots in a city, a freshman tour of campus, and a tour of a community for newly arrived foeign students. The tour of a community for forreign students can be used as a part of pre-departur preparation. Requiring a player to generate a note (text, photo, or voice) at each location makes a game more interactive.

ARIS環境の中での「ツアー」とはプレーヤーが複数の場所に移動できるような指示を出しながら、進めていくタイプのアクティビティを指します。応用例としては、新入生が大学キャンパス内の主要な建物や施設を訪れるアクティビティや到着したばかりの外国人留学生が生活を始めるにあたって必要な店や施設を訪れるアクティビティなどが考えられます。留学生用のアクティビティは本国の出発前の準備としても利用できるでしょう。また、それぞれの場所でノートを送らせるようにすれば、チェックポイントを設けたスタンプラリーのようなことができます。

The followings are two examples of tours. One is a tour of Kanazawa city and the other is a tour of four old restaurants in Tokyo.

「金沢の名所四ヶ所を歩いて巡る」というツアーと「東京の下町の老舗洋食店四ヶ所を巡る」ツアーの二つを例として紹介します。

 

Since these are tours, one needs to be at locations, namely in Japan. However, during the development stage and for demonstrations like this page, it is not possible to move there physically. ARIS provides a useful option called "Offsite Mode" to allow virtual trip by clicking icons on the map. Thus, you can play these two example games from anywhere. A video tutorial shows how to turn on this option.

ツアーですから、本来は現地へ行って実際に移動する必要がありますが、現在は画面のアイコンをタッチして仮想の移動ができるように設定してありますから（Offsite Modeがオン）、どこにいてもプレーすることができます。その設定方法はムービーヘルプを見てください。

このアクティビティは金沢駅を出発して、金沢の観光名所を四ヶ所歩いて回るツアーです。（近江市場、東茶屋街、兼六園、武家屋敷）ごく基本的なツアー型のARISのゲームの作り方の練習になると思います。
